It was 9:30 in the morning. I reached my cubicle and logged on to my PC. Well, the first thing which most of us do is check the emails. The first email of the year was from one of my friend stating that they required volunteer for The forthcoming Ellu Bella(Sankranthi) celebrations which was to be held on Jan 9. I was very much enthusiastic and decided to participate in a group song. When I let my friend know this, he compelled me to participate in a group dance. Since I am not that good dancer, I hesitated. Later, made my mind!

I contacted my friends who had participated an year ago for the same event. We were a team of amazing six!!! Oops, we are indeed an amazing group of six!!! We listened to songs and chose four songs and they were finally edited and fused to a single song. The very first day, I found the classical steps were too tough "Practice makes a man perfect." I was able to pick up the steps taught by my friends. Thanks to all of them for teaching me with a great patience!!! The next thing was the huge crowd to be faced. Initially, I was scared about it. What if I forget any step?? So many thoughts went on.

That evening, all of us were dressed beautifully. The costumes and jewellery were chosen by Ramya and Rashmi. Thanks to Ramya for a wonderful make up. Ramya had been saying Keep smiling and don't bother even if you forget any steps!!! Before entering the stage, I remembered my blogmate Sudipta's encouraging words,"Think you are the best and rest of audience know nothing." Thanks Sudipta, your words really worked.

The event kicked off with invocation, Dollu Kunita, Veeraghaase, song, dance, Yakshaghana. The whole event was a grand success. The audience were mesmerized by the event.I was present as a part of audience only after our dance concluded.

Can't forget that wonderful evening. I got a great opportunity to meet such wonderful people through this event. I'm thankful to all for their support. My social network expanding.

The next day, my inbox was flooded with emails filled with compliments. It was a moment of ecstasy. Compliments pouring. It was an outcome of team effort and hard work.Who on earth could sleep with such compliments pouring?

Here are some of the emails which I find hard to delete.
Namaskaara ellarigu,Ee kaaryakrama yashassu aagalu shramisida ellarigu tumba tumba dhanyavaadagaLu. Neevu maadiruva kelsa ‘really superb’ to put it in words. Some small but significant contributions for the event which are worth mentioning at this point.Special thanks to “Mr Ravishanker Rao” for the wonderful stage he provided and all the arrangements were carried on successfully only because of him. I cant even find word to thank him for the tremendous help he has given. The man behind the scenes but the most critical person for this event. I really thank you with all my heart, sir for all the help and support on behalf of the whole team.Karthik Bhat, Anil Prasanna, Guruprasad, Nagashree, Amulya, Ranjitha, Tejashwini, Suhas Gundoor, Guruprasad Kasaravalli, Shreyas, Madhuri, Govinda Raja and all the others I’ve forgotten to mention here – for the amazing publicity they provided the previous day. The size of the crowd was mainly due to your guys. Special thanks for Amulya and Guruprasad in helping us prepare questions for the events.Karthik bappanad for managing the veeragase team , Annadanesh for dollukunita, karthik bhat for yakshagana – Without the support from you guys…….. it would have been really difficult. Thanks a lot for even missing part of the event to give focus to these groups. The CD would first reach you guys.

Sudhindra for managing the finance very well and managing things under budget. Kudos to you.

Phanish for struggling so hard and finally getting such a renowned chief guest. Phanish special thanks for the song mixing and all your efforts. Its great to have you in the team coz you have contributed in every way possible with your tight schedule.

Ashwini, Padma Kini, Amulya, Suhas, Raki – for the wonderful rangoli on stage. It was simply superb. But too bad, that kolata event wiped it away. Special thanks to Padmakini ma’am for all the help in the green room. The team appreciates it.

Vinayaka for the wonderful compering. The crowd really enjoyed it and we had a great rapport on stage.

Special thanks to Paris Patel for the broken kannada ;-)

Govinda – for arranging all the transport and procuring the ellu bella for everyone on time.

Suhas – for sound management and Annadanesh/Praveen for lighting – you guys were great.

Shreyas, Arun, Madhu – for those lovely banners and posters. It was the highlight of the show. Madhu – special thanks for the background voice, and Shreyas and Arun – for the photos. Hope to get them soon.

Pramod, Pradeep, Sharath, Phanish and Praveen –for the wonderful music mix for the Kolata event. People just swarmed the stage. Thanks a lot for all the effort guys.

Shreyas – for arranging all the costumes and gifts on time and also for your photos.

Anantha – for wonderfully co-ordinating with HR and all the teams.

The success of the whole event lies in your co-ordination of teams. Great job on co-ordinating with all the external groups as well.

Special thanks to Suhruta and Shreenidhi for their moral support and keeping in constant touch and helping out with the event right from its start. We really missed you guys since you are at onsite but your contribution is significant and worth applause.

SONG GROUP:Sahana Satyaprakash; Veerabramhendra S.; Pallavi; Madhukar S Shendre; Sowmya Nadig; Nivedana Mulvadi Rajaram; Aditya S. N. ------ The Songs were simply superb and the audience kept humming munjaneddu throughout the evening. It came out very well. Good job people.

DANCE 1 : GEJJE TAALAKKE HEJJE:Rashmi; Ramya; Megha; Chandana; Manasa; Bharati. ------ The whole audience was mesmerized with the classical steps and you guys kept making them want more and more. A superb show with good amount of practice and hardwork. Thanks again guys.

INVOCATION: Nivedana Mulvadi, Madhukar S Shendre -> This was really well received guys. good work. There may be people who were not interacting with me directly, but whose contribution is great in the event. In case I have missed out their names, please feel free to let me know, as I don’t want to miss out on anyone who contributed in the event. Lets all relish the success of the event together. Photos and videos would be communicated once we get them. So till then….patience!!!!!!!!!

Jan 5: It had been several months that I had listened to the talk of my favorite, famous RJ on Radio City 91.1fm, the city's first private radio station launched in 2001. That evening I hurried home as early as possible so that I could listen to the mind blowing show on air which was to be host by person whose voice I frenzied for years. It was 8:50 in the evening, I turned the frequency tuner of my 12 year old Philips radio to listen a show "Top 8 at 8" always anchored by Darius. I was astonished to learn that so many radio stations exist at almost each frequency I tuned within a short span of time. Finally, I stopped tuning at 91.1fm. The show was at the verge of completion. All those who have been listening to Radio City quite a long time might have got, that it was Darius's birthday, the RJ who had been a heartthrob of many Bangaloreans(Well, even though Bangalore has been renamed Bengalooru; I don't know if Bangaloreans is replaced by some other name. For time being, let it be Bangaloreans.) I was disappointment that the show was hosted by RJ Sunaina. I listened to the show for the last ten minutes, then I switched off the radio. In the flashback mode, remembered the radio programs hosted by him in which most listeners hardly addressed him "Darius" instead calling him Dowrius, De rius, Darius Sunainawala. My friend Praths and me always gossiped about RJing. According to us, it was the coolest profession for being paid for non-stop talking, no dress code, your voice reaches every common man, chance to speak to so many people including personalities and huge fan rush. Though I missed his show, I'm happy that I can wish through this blog.

I found these articles after googling for a while.
Have you got what it takes
Silence is taboo
They are stuck with us

Jan 11: Our Indian cricket captains birthday!!! Some of his pics which I admire the most.

And here goes the cutetest pic!!!

Jan 18: My friend's birthday who has always supported me at all times. Seventeen years of friendship and not out. Cheers to our friendship!!! Blog imagesProud be have a friend like her. Happy Birthday, Praths. Blog images Words cannot describe how much you mean to me, how much I miss you. Let our friendship last forever, come what may!
